More government investment should be on the teaching of science than any other subjects in order to keep a country’s development and progress.

Can you imagine a world without science? That must be unthinkablefor any country. Should science subjects then be the only focus of government investment in education? I can hardly endorse this.

It is believed that with more funds invested in these curricula, there would be more in-houseelitesin the fields of electronics, telecommunication, robotics, medicine, to name but a few. Who these elites are, are meritoriouspeople to European countries and the United States in industrial revolutions, helping them leapfrog rungs on the development ladder. Besides, well-educated people on science, in most cases, are more visionary, who are more likely to be participativein the development of their nation.

However, for advance to happen, the investment on other subjects must also go hand in hand. This is because pragmaticallyspeaking, arts and humanities can also offer benefits to a country, tangible or intangible, culturally or artistically. Without History, a subject introducing past achievements, how could the sense of belonging be strengthened and thus the country be united? And without designers, the face of a city would be a mess. At this point, all liberal arts disciplines, as the basic requisites, instillsound values in citizens and equipthem withabilities to perfectthe country.
